Impaired Driving Charges Withdrawn

Sometimes the prosecution will withdraw impaired driving charges before trial dates have even been set, if Defence Counsel can justify the Crown doing so based on the client's individual circumstances and the circumstances of the offending conduct. This was one of those cases. The particular circumstances are too sensitive to publish here, but Mr. MacDonald was able to show -- over ongoing meetings and correspondence -- that there was no public interest in the Crown proceeding with the prosecution, and the charges were withdrawn.
