Drinking and Driving Charges Dismissed Mid-Trial

Tyler MacDonald had the client’s charges of impaired driving and driving with a BAC over .08 dismissed mid-trial at the Ontario Court of Justice in Toronto. After the testimony of all of the Crown’s witnesses, Mr. MacDonald explained to the trial judge how there was a complete lack of evidence capable of proving that the client was the person who drove and crashed the vehicle in this incident. The judge agreed and directed a verdict of acquittal, resulting in the dismissal of all charges. The client was saved from losing his licence and, more importantly, saved from getting a criminal record which would have lasted his entire life.
